The Vellar Project is my current primary writing project. For awhile I was writing a project called "The Beginning and the End", which I do plan to go back to, and the first few chapters can be found online easily..
100 years ago, Humans and Vampires came to realizes that constant hunting and brutalism has lead them to stalemate in technological evolution. They deemed it worth cooperation to progress forwards.
First were the vampires whom were banished from their houses. Their mutual cooperation with humans, instead of simply enslaving them, lead them to be the first ones to join integrated society.
As this society advanced, more and more vampires and humans came to it. This city became a megacity in just 50 years. This city is Vellar.
Now, in the modern day, humanity and vampires youngest generations exist side by side, as friends and partners, while their older generations and ancestors continue their squabble of blood purity and ritual. Vampire and Human biologists have discovered a breakthrough in human immortality, genetic engineering that can give humans conditional immortality. This advancement was hailed by the new age, but viewed by Elder Vampires as an attack on their existance and species.
Now, with the help of insiders in the program, they kidnap and kill people whom are on the waitlist.
You play as an (currently unnamed) detective, whom is set to investigate these murders. But the further you progress, the worse you carve your name into the walls of hell.
Inspite the description, "Vellar Project" is more than a murder mystery, it's about exploring a world of unqiue cultures that could only exist in it.
You will learn and see the customs and culture of a world that has been forced to look through its past, and accept it. One where unbridled bigotry and hatred occur,
but are combatted by a generation whom has put it all to the side in order to better the lives of themselves, and everyone they know. Vellar isn't just a city of crime,
it's a city of culture, of power, of division that has been cast aside for a future.
